A favorite picture of Old Joe the tractor from years past. This winter Joe sits cozy and dry in our newly expanded farm shed.

Farmer's Journal March 3 We are officially full for 2010! With an 80% renewal rate, we were able to welcome 13 new member households to the CSA - we look forward to meeting you! We have started a waiting list for 2011. February 27 We have never - literally never - seen so much snow at one time (and Rachel is from Wisconsin!). It snowed here without a break from Tuesday afternoon until Saturday. we can't even measure it accurately because it's packed down, but we estimate about 4 1/2 feet! February 21 We just returned from a long-awaited family vacation to Costa Rica - what a treat! Temps in the 80s, banana trees and Caribbean beaches were wonderful - but we are also glad to return to our own home sweet home. February 2 Happy Groundhog Day! Around here, we don't need a large rodent to tell us whether there will be 6 more weeks of winter. The question is, will winter ONLY by 6 more weeks? January 30 The midwinter meeting is over and now all our seeds are ordered. It's very exciting to plan the upcoming season. Now let's start to pray for good weather this summer. January 23 Today is the deadline for returning members to renew their shares. 36 of our 50 members have renewed, with a few more still coming in. January 10 Our CSA calendar has been updated for 2010. The first Farm Day is our Midwinter Meeting on Saturday January 30. Hope to see you there! January 8 Membership renewals are coming in steadily. We're pleased that most of you are joining us in the new work commitment. If you haven't sent your renewal in yet, be sure to submit by January 23rd to avoid losing your share! December 23 A light snow is falling and winter is here! We will be sending out share information within the next day or two. October 29 Our final CSA delivery for the season is done. We'll do some fall clean-up and then take a few weeks of rest from farm work before we start planning our next CSA season!
Poor Scarecrow Bob was left out in the field this winter. We'll retire him at the May Day event when his successor is ready to go up.
